For Meridian Township residents,
the easiest way to recycle (in my opinion!) is to use
Meridian Township's recycling program for most routine,
standard items (see below) and Ingham County's recycling
program for special items. Between the two, there are
many opportunities to be a recycler in Ingham County.

Ingham
County's most well known recycling program is the Household
Hazardous Waste Collection Program:

April through the end of
September (closed for the season)
Every Thursday 2-6 p.m.
Ingham County Human Services Facility,

Free for Ingham County residents,
including the following items: pesticides, household batteries, cell phones, cleaners
& polishes, flammables (gasoline, lighter fluid, etc.), wood
preservatives, asphalt sealer & roofing tar, fuel oil, automotive
products (brake, steering, transmission fluid - but not waste oil or
antifreeze), photographic chemicals, florescent lights and ballasts,
aerosols containing product (throw empties in trash,), home repair
products (glue, caulk, etc), mercury thermometers & thermostats
(place in zip-lock bag), small propane tanks ( 1 pound size), acids
& bases (pool chemicals, toil bowl cleaners, oil pain & paint
products (thinner, mineral spirits, stains -- no latex pain that can
be dried out and through in trash)

Meridian Township
Meridian Township has done an
outstanding job bringing recycling opportunities to the community.
In addition to offering FREE curbside recycling through Granger
Recycling, Meridian has a recycling center and other miscellaneous

Locations that accept plastic shopping bags for recycling:
The Village of Mulliken Recycling Center located at the corner of
Main and Railroad (517) 649-8992. Mulliken is open Mondays and
Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
The Sunfield Twp Recycling Center located at 126 First Street (517)
566-8972. Sunfield is open Mondays from 3pm to 6pm and Saturdays
from
9am to Noon.
These are a bit far to go, but that is all I know of at the moment.
Some Walmarts and grocery stores may also take small amounts of
plastic bags.
